The do's and don'ts of permanent makeup are not difficult to manage but it does give some of my clients a great deal of worry. I'm here to try to make it simple for you.
First and foremost we wan't to prevent infection. When performing this service on your brows we are essentially creating a wound and it needs to be treated as such. I have been a PMU (permanent makeup) Artist since 2016. Not a single one of my clients has ever experienced an infection. But let's not get lazy because that doesn't mean that it can't happen. So hands off!....
I know you're excited about your new brows but don't touch them with your unwashed hands, or anything that may be contaminated with bacteria, such as makeup brushes.
For the first week the only things that should be making contact with your brows are a high quality aftercare ointment and gentle soap. Antibiotics and antibacterials are not necessary and in many cases can cause an allergic reaction or sensitivity.
Also in the first week I am going to direct you to avoid sun, sweat, and heavy soaking. Remember I want you to be cleaning your brows, they don't have to say completely dry but no excessive soaking. Sun and sweat are especially problematic for ink retention so plan appointments accordingly.
You'll receive detailed aftercare instructions after your treatment but I've hit the high points here. Healing almost always goes much smoother and faster than clients expect. So take a breath it'll be easy.
When in doubt.... I'm here to help!
